To kick off October, Andrew and I had a little fun pumpkin carving! And in not-so traditional fashion… using our new power drill! To make it even more fun, we live streamed it on Facebook. It got a little messy and we ran into a few bumps, but no surprises there! 😆
Tools (this list contains affiliate links, which help me keep this blog up and running – more on that here):
- Serrated knife
- Power drill (I LOVE our Ryobi!)
- Drill bits of your selected size
- Buckets for pumpkin guts
The air is crisp… PSL’s are a-plenty… the leaves are getting crunchy… Oh, wait, I live in Arizona where it’s still hot and desert, but that doesn’t keep me from PSL-ing throughout the week! In the spirit of fall, I finally got around to pulling my fall decor out of the garage (but not before inspecting each box with a blacklight to make sure no scorpions were lurking around. Blegh!). I strapped Griffin to my back and got the job done. And boy, I’m glad I did!
Friends. Can you believe that Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK? It came out of nowhere! I love this time of year. Since moving from Iowa to Arizona, I’ve learned that the seasons are what you make of them. Even though we don’t really get the true fall season here, the weather has finally cooled and there’s fall decor everywhere!
With Thanksgiving next week, I wanted to share some cozy, beautiful, and fun Thanksgiving table ideas! Growing up, I loved helping set the Thanksgiving table. I remember being tasked with folding the napkins in a fun design and arranging all the plates and silverware. We’re HUGE foodies in my family, so the table is a magical place. Table = FOOD!
I’m a little impartial to my own fall tablescape this year, especially the wood rounds and plaid blanket backdrop! 😍
Anyway, from pretty plates to free printables, take a scroll through these Thanksgiving table ideas and have a beautiful, family-filled Thanksgiving!

Talk about easy cleanup! I’m surprisingly enamored with how elegant these place settings look.
So I have a kind of weird confession: I have a soft spot in my heart for Wal-Mart. Growing up in a town of 7,000 people, Wal-Mart was our only department store. The closest legit shopping mall was 1.5 hours away, and it was usually more convenient to go to Wal-Mart for groceries than one of the other grocery stores in town. I went to the same Wal-Mart almost every week for the first 18 years of my life. I have a lot of fond memories grocery shopping with my mom and walking around there with friends – yes, that’s what you do for fun when you’re 16, living in a town of 7,000 people, and it’s -20 degrees outside.
Now that I live in Arizona and there are a million other shopping options besides Wal-Mart, I STILL choose to go to Wal-Mart for everyday stuff. It feels so familiar and I do feel like I’m getting the best prices. So earlier this week I decided to browse through the craft section (which I’ll admit, is usually pretty crappy). I was pleasantly surprised at the supplies and was inspired to make a fall-inspired front door hanging! Plus, the whole thing cost me just $10.86!!!

Okay guys, I’m taking a small reprieve from our barn door project to bring you an easy and fun DIY project! We have a lot of small-ish 2×4 ends leftover from the barn doors, so I wanted to find a way to use ’em up. My first project is a set of fall-inspired stacked signs! They were really easy, inexpensive, and a fun way to bring more fall decor into my home!
DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, I don’t actually have hayrides or a pumpkin patch in my house. “Apple Cider” is pointing to my pantry, so I suppose that’s appropriate. LOL
Anyway, let’s hop to it!
Guys… it’s MID-AUGUST already. Are you hearing me?? Do you know what this means??
FALL. PUMPKIN SPICE. SWEATERS. BOOTS. LEAVES. ACORNS. PUMPKINS. Oh, did I say PUMPKIN SPICE?????
Fall is JUST around the corner and I’m already thinking about my fall decor. I spent a small fortune on fall decor last year, so this year I’m just looking for a few things to spruce up my collection. I loved the centerpiece I made last year from Hobby Lobby stuff and can’t wait to get that out!
So this week I decided to pop on to Amazon to see what autumnal treasures I could find. Let me tell you… I was NOT disappointed! I found tons of cute stuff that I want to show you (that’s all rated 4+ stars, because I’m picky!). I’m also loving Amazon for 2 other reasons right now:
- Free 2-day shipping with Amazon Prime (on most stuff)
- It’s still 100 billion degrees in Arizona and going out is not incredibly pleasurable, especially at 24.5 weeks pregnant
Take a stroll with me through all my favorite fall decor Amazon finds and some ideas to get your home in tip-top fall shape! Lots of wood, lots of warm colors, and lots of foliage!
Fall is such a beautiful time for Pinterest. It’s filled with DIY projects for my “someday” list and a few Fall Pins I can’t wait to try out this season! Like this one I whipped up yesterday…
Here’s a round-up of my favorites so far. You can easily repin any of these to your own Pinterest board by clicking the “Save” button on the pic! Also, take a second to follow my “All Things Fall” Pinterest board by clicking the button below. I’ll continue pinning new stuff throughout the season! ?
Now, let’s take a scroll through my favorite fall pins! I crack myself up…
People. I have a SERIOUS case of Fall Fever. It’s bad (or is it good? 😉 ). On Monday I had my first pumpkin spice coffee of the year and I about blew a gasket! Pure joy right here:
Since we bought our new home, I have been beyond excited to decorate for the seasons. As I started imagining our fall-inspired home, I got a little nervous about our walls being mostly gray and blue – colors I don’t usually associate with fall decor.
To add to my worry, all the beautiful fall-inspired homes I see on Pinterest have light yellow, beige, or white walls. Of course, fitting in perfectly with the fall theme. 🙄
