The Completed Nursery Reveal!!!

Well, my peeps, it’s officially less than one month until my due date! I’m trying to hold the phrase “due date” loosely, as I know Baby Rissler will come on his own time. At 36 weeks, I am MORE than ready to meet this lil dude! I’m probably one of the few women in the world who is actually excited for labor. LOL! Bring it on!!

It’s a CRAZY EXCITING day over here…. it’s REVEAL DAY!! Now, I know I shared a nursery sneak peek in August, but now everything is finally ready for its newest inhabitant. Weeeeee!!

Before we dive in, can I just share a picture of this room from when we moved in?? This was possibly my least favorite room in the whole house – there was cat litter and cat urine everywhere in the carpet and drips of who-knows-what on the wall. Seriously, nast. No worries though, we have new carpet and new paint and disinfected everything!

Nursery Before

Nursery After!!!

Adventure Nursery - After

As you might remember, we decided to do an adventure theme for the nursery and I’m so happy with how it came together! Our colors were navy, mint, and white, which I think will be easy to adjust if we have a girl in the future.

The Changing Closet

The nursery itself is pretty small, but has a huge walk-in closet! To save on space in the nursery, we decided to put the changing table in the closet. Definitely a good decision!

Grandpa’s Toy Box

You may have noticed this BEAUT in an earlier picture. Not only do I love how it looks, it has a lot of sentimental value. My grandpa passed away earlier this year, and when my mom and aunts were going through his belongings she pulled out some things for me, including this toy box. I love that there’s a little token from my gramps in here!

The Hutch Makeover

One of the DIY projects in the nursery was painting a hutch my husband had bought off Craig’s List awhile back – it was a little dinged up. It used to live in our dining room, but didn’t serve much purpose so I thought it would be useful in the nursery. Plus, it looks brand-spankin’ new! We painted it with White Dove by Sherwin Williams, color-matched with Behr Marquee.

Adventure Nursery - Hutch Before and After

When I was little, I was OBSESSED with stuffed animals. I had a huge mountain of them at the end of my bed. My favorites were in a “special club,” marked by having their tag snipped off. I was a strange child, LOL! Anyway, I found some of my old favorites and put them on the hutch so that Baby Rissler can play with them!

The Countdown Begins…

Today I’m 36 weeks pregnant, which means if Baby Rissler decides to make an appearance it’s all systems go! I had a check-up today and I was 1 cm dilated, which is SO EXCITING!! I know it could mean a whole lot of nothing and I could stay at 1 cm until… past my due date, but I’m so proud that my body is starting to prepare for the birth of our baby boy! I’ll definitely have a few more posts before he’s born, but I’m planning to share my birth story and a life update after he’s born, so stay tuned!

I stumbled upon this post looking for adventure themed nurseries in navy and teal, I love it! I don’t see where you got your sheet set, could you share? Thanks for the information!

    1. Thanks, Chelsea! It’s actually a Clark Kensington color called Haven of Coziness. We color matched it with Behr Marquee. I LOVE it!

  4. I love this! And I’m like you, I was always excited about labor. The first thing I said when I found out I was pregnant with my second baby was, “woohoo! I get to go through labor again!!” ???? It is life changing in such a beautiful way. Just had my 4th baby a year ago and I still feel that way. I can’t wait to hear your birth story. I found your blog from your bathroom renovations, and I am definitely sticking around. I’m so excited for you and your growing family.

    1. Deb, you are too sweet!! I️ loved your message! Thanks so much for following along on our journey. Hopefully I’ll be sharing our birth story sooner rather than later! ????
